Post Reservation Discloser – Finalize Your Reservation
Thank you for making a reservation with Skydive Newport. We know that your experience with us will be very memorable. Skydive Newport is a very safe and efficient skydiving center and do require that our clients understand certain policies. The person making the reservation is responsible to make sure everyone in your group understands everything on this page.
Arrival time:
SN requires that you and everyone in your group show up at least 30 minutes prior to your schedule time for processing.( i.e 12.00 reservation, show up no later than 11:30)
Please plan according. Many times you can encounter beach traffic or just general traffic during summer months. If you or your group is late it is very possible that you will lose your slot and allotted time frame and be charged $100.00 per person, late cancellation /no show fee.
* This policy has absolutely no exceptions!
Cancellation policies / deposit policy
Now that you made your reservation we will hold your valid credit card number. WE DO NOT charge anything at this point. (Most skydiving centers will charge your account at the time you place your reservation $50 to $100 per person) We do not; however
Do understand the following:
We require at least a 48 hour notice to cancel a reservation or to delete someone in your group. Groups of 8 or more we require at least a one week notice. If you cancel or delete anyone after these times there would be a charge of $100.00 per person for a late cancellation fee.
Weather Issues
SN will determine if there are any weather constraints the day of your jump. SN will never cancel reservations before the day of your jump. The fact is the weather forecasts are inaccurate most of the times. If you are in question of the weather the day of your jump please call us before you leave your house. Do not “just not” show up thinking the weather may be bad here. If we jump at your schedule time and your not here you will be charged a $100.00 per person no show fee. If we determine that we cannot jump due to weather problems at your schedule time there would be no charge and you do not have to come out.(once again please call us) However if you decide do show up here and we cant jump at your schedule time due to weather, you would asked to either cancel your reservation or reschedule your reservation for another time reason being is we cant infringe on later reservations that day. Chances are we cannot have you come out at a later time on that day, most likely were booked all day.
Early reservation vs late day reservations
Early reservations jump first. Later reservations jump last. Keep this in mind when booking.Sometime there is fog early in the morning and later in the afternoon. We are a reservation based business and your ability to jump on your scheduled time will be based on the weather at that time.
Weight limits
SN has a weight limit of 240 pounds. However if one has an excessive weight to height ratio we reserve the right to refuse services. (Click here for hight to weight ratio chart) If you show up over these limits you will be refused service and be charged a $100.00 late cancellation fee. Note: Our weight limit policy is set in stone and is non negotiable.
Age minimum/ maximum
SN has a minimum age of 18 (no exceptions) There are no maximum age limits; however we handle that on an individual basis. Please call for more details.
Expected duration/ delays
SN is a very efficient skydiving center. Miles ahead of others. Two people will be here for one and a half hours or less from schedule time. Ten people will be here for about three and a half hours from schedule time. However do understand weather and air traffic is uncontrollable and these times can vary.
Payment/ group/ student discount
SN accepts MC, Visa. Discover, or cash, (no checks). Any student or group rates are based on a cash sale only. Please refer to our pricing policy page for current rates.
Clothing
Dress comfortable. Shorts,t-shirts,pants, sweat shirts. Dress depending on out side temperature. Sneakers or tennis shoes are preferable. No flip flops. We do have jumpsuits you can wear over your clothes.
Personal Camera Policy
Skydive Newport does not allow you to take your own camera on a skydive for a variety of reasons.. the first of which is safety. You or your instructor may be hit with a camera carried in freefall, causing possible injury. Because we are falling at speeds of 120 mph, and any projectile that may dislodge from a mount at that speed is very dangerous. Our camera equipment has been specially designed and modified to be skydiving friendly, and the instructor has extensive experience in safely operating that equipment. The second reason is one of liability. Should the camera be dropped, bumped, or fall away for any reason, everyone below is at risk. Anything dropped from that altitude (even the lightest of equipment) is extremely hazardous. We regularly jump over highly populated areas, and we are not willing to put those below at risk, nor have to answer to the FAA as to why a camera went through someone’s windshield. The third reason lies in the fact that our instructors have been highly trained in how to film in freefall and during the canopy ride, and are much more likely to produce a product that accurately reflects your jump. The sensory overload on one’s first jump can be a bit overwhelming, and being able to catch the angles and lighting takes great practice and skill. Our instructors are as much photographers as they are instructors!
You and your family/friends are more than welcome to bring your own cameras for on-the-ground fiming/photography before and after the jump, but please do not attempt to bring one onto our aircraft. You will not be allowed to jump with it.
Spectators
SN has a spectator area at the edge of the landing area. Bring as many people as you want. If you are scheduled on a weekend day please have all your spectators go straight to the spectator area adjacent to the lobby where all jumpers will check in .Unfortunately we have limited space in our lobby. We need to dedicate the space for training jumpers.
Unattended Children
Due to the natural environment of an airport where there are ADULT skydiving activities, you will see active taxiways with moving aircraft equipped with spinning propellers, along with skydivers landing and many other aeronautical activities.
* We ask that all children under the age of 8 be under direct supervision of an adult.
* We define direct supervision is by holding their hand 100% of the time while on airport property.
* We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Our primary concern is that everyone stays safe at Skydive Newport.
* We regret to say if this policy is not followed, you will be asked to leave the property and all deposits will be forfeited.
Tipping
Many people ask us what is protocol for tipping in the skydiving industry. There is none. Our staff does get paid well for the job there doing. However if you feel compelled to do so our staff will greatly appreciate it. SN will have a comment and or tip box available for you.
Thank you for taking the time to read these policies and passing them on to your friends.
